Product Description
Here's the Tesla collection you've been waiting for: 214 figures; 668 pages; and 107 articles, letters to editors, and lectures. All the famous lectures and articles that you'd expect are here, You'll also get his many letters to editors, commenting on Marconi, Edison, and many issues of the day. And if that wasn't enough you'll also get other articles that you've heard about but probably never seen. This is an amazing collection that will give you the most complete look into the mind of Nikola Tesla, who has been called the most important man of the 20th Century. Without Tesla's ground-breaking work we'd all be sitting in the dark without even a radio to listen to.

5 out of 5 stars Nikola Tesla Treasury   November 4, 2008

This book is a TREASURY for anyone who wants to know more about his inventions and who he is as a person. I've read about many of his works and even several biographies. This by far is the best book I have read to introduce someone to his inventions as well as the influences that drove his relentless spirit to a life time of hard work. Mankind is only now becoming aware of his genius and the influences he had on our civilization. I only can guess about the yet unpublished works during the last years of his life. To see what he knew in the late 19th century and his devotion to discovery, I am sure, we will discover that he holds many of the answers for our world's energy problems today and held more keys to the science of quantum physics and the universe. Knowledge was this man's only satisfaction.

4 out of 5 stars Thorough, but with some hickups   June 11, 2008

Plus: The Treasury contains a tremendous wealth of fascinating information in a single book -- it's hard to put down!

Minus: It appears to be a scanned OCR version of most of the included documents, given the abundance and type of typos in the text - clearly it hasn't been reviewed before publication. It is also lacking relevant images from several articles, presumably also due to the lack of editorial review of the contents. Given the highly-technical nature of most of the contents, that really is annoying. Final short-coming: many of the included letters are replies to other people's letters which are not included -- making the included letters often hard to understand for lack of context.

3 out of 5 stars Technical reading material   April 6, 2009

Not what I expected. This a book of reprints of Tesla's correspondence (mostly replies) to the technical community describing in detail and defending his inventions. Many pages of technical information, most of it over my head. At this point I have only read about 1/4 of the book. Although I am a fan of Tesla I am not an electrical engineer, so I am only giving it 3 stars for those of us who are less technically inclined.
