Wonderful November 7, 2007 Laura Carter (Princeton, NJ United States) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
We got this for my 5-year-old son for his birthday, and he absolutely loved it. He wanted to linger on each activity for hours before moving on to the next one. The book isn't a complete textbook on electricity; it's meant for young kids, but that was exactly what we wanted. When he's a little older we'll get him something more complex and he'll understand it much better having started with this kit.
Son LOVES this kit! September 20, 2007 LovetoRead (Boston) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
My son got this kit when he was 5 years old and now he is 6. We come back to the kit every so often to try it out again. Its great to see what he can do and what he understands as time goes on. And he *loves* it. The book is simple, but its all you need. The fun is in the hands-on approach to science. I totally recommend this kit because it's not only fun, but reusable, unlike alot of kits that have a one-time lifespan.
Best Gift (for kids and dad)! January 8, 2008 Jessica Maul (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We gave this to our 7 and 5 year old for Christmas. They sat with their dad for over an hour the first day. They have tried many other experiments since then and they love it. My husband really enjoys teaching them about something he knows about. They all seem to like it and they are talking about getting more parts to try other variations of the experiments in the kit. Overall, a great buy. We are going to try the Chemistry one next! Very pleased!
Good for young kids who want to know how electricity works. July 23, 2009 Melanie Franklin (Brooklyn, NY) My son got this as a present for his fourth birthday. We do the experiments together, and he absolutely loves this kit. We've come back to it several times to try all the experiments again. And he learned the basics of an electric circuit through this book & kit. He did require adult supervision and some of the items have broken through repeated use, but overall this gets 5 stars.
Great Kit for Sparking the Interest of the Young July 27, 2009 LJL (south florida) I purchased this for my 4 yr old. Both he and his younger (3 yr) brother love it. We've had it for months and still pull it out. My children were/are very engaged and entertained by it. In my opinion this is the perfect introduction for this age group (3-5). They understand the basic concepts and are now ready for something a bit more complex. FYI, I found the quality of the set to be pretty good. Everything still works. The only issue I have, is the buzzer clips are a bit flimsy for my young boys (who are pretty rough).
